Betjeman & Barton · News & Events

What if a tea shop could become a cabinet of curiosities? Starting mid-November 2025, Betjeman & Barton is transforming its two Parisian addresses into Curious Boutiques: pop-up spaces inspired by charming flea markets, cozy English lounges, and the cabinets of curiosities of yesteryear. Rare objects, vintage pieces, limited editions, and treasures long kept in the Maison's archives will be available for a winter season to help you find wonderful gifts.

Discover the Curious Boutiques

The concept of the Curious Boutiques was born from a singular desire: to bring Betjeman & Barton boutiques to life in a different way, by occasionally transforming them into places of discovery and wonder. Neither a simple sale nor an exhibition, the Curious Boutique is part private lounge, part chic flea market, and part cabinet of curiosities—three worlds brought together in a single space for the season.

The idea is deeply consistent with the Maison's DNA. Since 1919, Betjeman & Barton has cultivated a taste for the rare, the unexpected, and the beautiful. The Curious Boutiques are its most literal translation: a place where every object has a story, every drawer hides a surprise, and every visit holds a new discovery.

"A place at the crossroads of a tea room, a chic flea market, and living history, to be discovered for a winter... to find lovely gifts!" — Betjeman & Barton

What you will find in the Curious Boutiques

Alongside the Maison's more than 200 iconic teas and infusions and its daring collection of eccentric teapots, the Curious Boutiques unveil an exclusive selection of small treasures not found in-store the rest of the year.

Rare objects, vintage pieces, and limited editions

This is the heart of the offering: vintage pieces and carefully sourced antiques, delicate accessories reissued in small numbers, and collaborative creations imagined in close connection with the Maison's universe. Some items come from the Betjeman & Barton reserves—pieces kept for years, presented to the public for the first time.

More than 200 exceptional teas

The Curious Boutiques remain, above all, tea destinations. The entire Betjeman & Barton collection is available there: single-origin teas, great classics, exclusive blends, and daring creations. Names that taste like a story—Eden Rose, Un Gentleman à Deauville, Si Nancy m'était conté, Rendez-vous pour le thé…—all invitations to the sensory journey that has made the Maison unique for over a century.

Experiencing the boutique differently

The Curious Boutiques are not just remodeled points of sale. They are living spaces, designed to make every visit a memorable experience. Tasting moments are organized, along with exchanges with the Maison's team, and small surprises carefully hidden in drawers await the most curious visitors.

At any moment, you might discover a confidential infusion found nowhere else, an unexpected object placed between two tea caddies, or a story expertly told by the team. It is this human and narrative dimension that distinguishes the Betjeman & Barton experience from an ordinary shop: here, tea is a conversation.

Through these pop-up spaces, the Maison continues to showcase its New Tea Moment—its own unique way of hosting, building connections, and bringing to life the joy of being together in an atmosphere conducive to discovery and sharing.

The Curious Boutiques: the perfect tea gift idea in Paris

The launch period—mid-November—is no coincidence. The Curious Boutiques naturally establish themselves as a prime destination for end-of-year gifts. Offering an object found at Betjeman & Barton, a limited edition not available in supermarkets, or an eccentric teapot accompanied by an exceptional tea, means offering an experience, not just a product.

The Maison understands this well: in a world saturated with generic objects, tea lovers and fine gourmets look for gifts that tell a story. An antique tea caddy, a vintage infuser, a limited-series creation from the Maison—these are pieces that stand the test of time and retain their value far beyond the moment they are gifted.

Betjeman & Barton has been cultivating this art of the perfect gift since 1919: the oldest Parisian tea house knows better than anyone that a beautiful, well-chosen tea is one of the most universal gifts there is.
