Although the cast iron teapot boasts Chinese origins, it has become a powerful symbol of Japanese culture. The Japanese transformed this object into an essential and iconic tea-serving accessory. Since the 16th century, the tetsubin has become a decorative object in its own right, thanks to increasingly sophisticated designs.

Since 1852, the Oigen foundry established by Oikawa Genjuro has been one of the most respected factories in Japan for the remarkable quality of its tetsubin. It perpetuates acraftsmanshippassed down over 5 generations through manufacturing imbued with authenticity.

Each cast iron piece is crafted from a unique, hand-shaped mold. The material used provides excellent heat retention and distribution, keeping the tea hot throughout the entire tea experience.
