Betjeman & Barton · New arrival
What if fine French confectionery were invited into a cup of tea? With Duc de Praslin, Betjeman & Barton unveils a new creation inspired by one of the most iconic delicacies of our heritage: the praline.
Duc de Praslin: a highly indulgent praline black tea
Designed as a true gourmet treat, this black tea delicately combines notes of deep chocolate, creamy vanilla, and lightly toasted caramel, lifted by a subtle hint of praliné, an evocation of caramelized almond.
Born from the imagination of the famous praline, which appeared in the kitchens of the Duc de Praslin in the 17th century, this blend revisits the codes of tea time in an interpretation that is both indulgent and contemporary.

A story of taste
Inspired by the 17th century and the birth of the praline in the kitchens of the Duc de Praslin, this tea extends the story of an artisanal craft that became an icon. A way for the House to create a dialogue between French heritage, imagination, and the art of tea time.
Back then, in the salons, indulgence became a language, a way to suggest more than to say. Sweet treats played an essential role in rituals of sociability, but also in the more discreet art of seduction. They accompanied conversations, punctuated silences, and became a pretext for exchanges where everything was suggested without ever being imposed.
At Betjeman & Barton, the most exquisite sweets are not only enjoyed with a spoon, they are also dreamt of as tea. The House's creations are born from this fascination for legendary desserts, those whose very mention awakens familiar memories. It takes only a hint of cheekiness for pastry icons to slip into the world of tea: Christmas pudding becomes Christmas Tea, the macaron is reinvented in Si Nancy m'était conté…
A play of correspondences where tradition becomes the muse and the cup, a sanctuary of voluptuousness.
Today, a new story of flavor completes this ballet. A confection that was both noble and bold was needed, capable of uniting sweetness and distinction: the praline suggested itself, like a burst of pleasure or a jewel hidden in the porcelain.
Praliné in the cup
Upon infusion, Duc de Praslin reveals a full-bodied and velvety cup, with an amber robe and coppery glints. On the palate, the tasting opens with the richness of chocolate, then rounds out with creamy vanilla. Caramel then brings warmth and depth, before a delicately toasted praliné comes to sign the whole.
A round and indulgent tea, always balanced, true to the elegance of the many creations by the House of Betjeman & Barton. Enveloping and profoundly comforting, it can be enjoyed like a dessert.
The ideal companion for gourmet moments
Duc de Praslin pairs wonderfully with the most delicate desserts:
- Paris-Brest
- Chocolate-hazelnut entremets
- Caramelized pear tart
- Vanilla crème brûlée
It can be savored just as well during a five o'clock tea as in those moments at the end of the day when you are simply looking for a bit of sweetness. The opportunity to treat yourself to a New Tea Moment, Betjeman & Barton style.
