- Black tea with very fruity bouquet -

The green tea Malesherbes is one of our best sellers. It was necessary to create it on a basis of black tea.

This black tea is a blend of China and Ceylon teas with aromas of passion fruit, vineyard peach and wild strawberries. Embellished with red rose petals and strawberry bits. A real sweet!

Two Malesherbes, Two Universes

The runaway success of our Malesherbes green tea led to an obvious conclusion: to create a black version, designed for those who prefer the depth, warmth, and muted richness of black tea.

Thus was born Malesherbes Noir, a chiaroscuro tribute to our historic boutique at 23 Boulevard Malesherbes. This blend, too, embodies everything that defines our Maison: elegance, refinement, and balance, in a reinterpretation that remains true to the spirit of its origins. But with an almost identical aromatic composition, the two Malesherbes teas offer radically different tasting experiences, and that is the very charm of this deliberate pairing!

Sencha green tea from China gives Malesherbes vert a fresh, thirst-quenching liqueur with a bright, spring-like profile. It evokes the vibrancy of freshly picked fruit, the herbaceous scent of a summer garden, and an invigorating vivacity that calls for the morning light or clear afternoons.

Chinese and Ceylon black tea, on the other hand, offers Malesherbes Noir a broader and more enveloping expression of the same bouquet. The fruit becomes riper, almost stewed, the texture rounder and smoother. The result is a sweeter, more indulgent infusion, best enjoyed at the end of the day, like a dessert in itself.

Thus, one spirit, two rhythms: the vivid freshness of green, and the tender depth of black, each extending in its own way the soul of the House.

Tea and food pairing
At breakfast time, it pairs beautifully with warm brioche, a zest cake, or lightly toasted whole-grain bread. At teatime, it complements the richness of a pear tart, the freshness of lemon shortbread, or the nostalgic sweetness of vanilla custard. Its fruity notes harmonize perfectly with simple and elegant desserts, in a distinctly French style.

Recipes and cocktails using Malesherbes tea
Cold-brewed, Malesherbes Noir reveals another facet of its personality: fresher, more vibrant, almost floral. Served in a delicate glass with a few slices of white peach, some chopped strawberries, and a touch of verbena syrup, it becomes a poetic iced tea, perfect for long summer days. For a cocktail version, add a dash of mango nectar and a hint of rosewater: a fruity, light, and fragrant treat, somewhere between a tea room and a secret garden.
