Boite 1 kg orange 160x285

Empty metal tea box

Some boxes simply hold things. This one creates a scene. Its generous size and vibrant orange hue evoke the vast reserves of tea houses where blends accumulate in abundance, promising future tastings. Designed and crafted from high-quality metal, it protects the leaves with the utmost care, preserving them from light, air, and humidity, true to the exacting standards of Maison Betjeman & Barton.

Its capacity allows it to hold up to 1 kg of loose leaf tea or infusion, depending on the size and density of the leaves. This large format is ideal for storing everyday blends, teas enjoyed with family, or large leaves that require space to maintain their integrity.

The orangey hue of this piece draws its inspiration from the artistic heritage of Nancy, the cradle of French Art Nouveau. It evokes the creations of the École de Nancy, where master glassmakers and cabinetmakers translated nature into living matter. In the glassworks of Émile Gallé or the Daum crystal factory, light was tinged with amber, saffron, and deep orange, reminiscent of sap, autumn foliage, or sunsets filtered through engraved glass. This warm palette finds a decorative resonance in this setting, whose color, in turn, seems to capture an inner light, at the crossroads of art and the art of living.

In a kitchen or a tasting room, it becomes a visual landmark, almost a totem dedicated to tea. But its use can extend beyond tea leaves: it also readily accommodates sweet treats to share, such as the iconic bergamots of Nancy, whose citrus notes delicately complement the brightness of its orange casing.

Placed alongside more subdued hues, it creates an elegant interplay of contrasts, reminiscent of the rows of boxes in the House's historic counters. A way to recreate at home the spirit of the great perfume reserves, blending heritage and personal expression.

It clearly houses the " Si Nancy m'était conté " tea, a creation conceived as a tribute to the Betjeman & Barton boutique in Nancy. Its orange packaging, designed in the wake of this story, becomes its natural visual signature.
