A Story with Lorraine Accents

In the cobbled streets of Nancy, beneath the Art Nouveau streetlights, Claude opened the door to a small boutique and tea room with its captivating aromas. Despite the multitude of choices on offer, she was missing one tea, THE tea of her dreams... And for good reason, what was it? What did she love more than her city and her region?

Claude's answer was obvious: she loves itthe mirabelle plum, treasure of Lorraine, revealing its sweet notes, reminiscent of sunny orchards; but also themacaroon from Nancy, a symbol of indulgence, which she loved to get from Les Sœurs Macarons, let's not forgetbergamot, which reminded her of that dear Earl Grey that she drank every morning with her husband, or even thepoppy, a poetic nod to the flowery fields that she loved to contemplate so much...

This lovely blend quickly won over all of Claude's customers and made a name for itself beyond the walls of the tea room... The Mayor himself had an idea one day: to make this tea the emblem of the city... So it was necessary to find a name for it... and a beautiful setting. We were beyond a simple infusion, between a true invitation to travel, a gourmet and comforting escape and a tribute to the city... With each sip, the charm worked. On a beautiful winter afternoon, Claude served tea accompanied by the famous scones, which only she had the know-how to make, to one of her most loyal customers, drinking her tea piping hot:"Claude, I like the way you tell me about Nancy."… This is how the story ofIf Nancy were told to mewas born and spread beyond the borders of Lorraine.

Tea and food pairings
Si Nancy m'était conté pairs wonderfully with delicate sweets: almond madeleines, fine mirabelle plum tart, small bergamot shortbreads, or even soft financiers. It delicately accompanies a warm yellow fruit compote, or an orange blossom mousse, revealing the delicious complexity of its aromas.

Iced Tea Recipe and Tea Cocktail If Nancy Were Told to Me
Cold brewed, this tea becomes a refined scented water. Let it steep for several hours in a cool place, with fresh mirabelle plum segments, a hint of lemon zest, and a few drops of orange blossom water. Serve very cold, garnished with a crystallized poppy petal.

For a cocktail, prepare a syrup based on Si Nancy m'était conté. Mix it with a sweet vodka, a dash of bergamot liqueur, and a little mirabelle plum juice. Serve in a frosted glass, with a sprinkle of crumbled macaron on the rim of the glass, a delicate and elegant liquid tribute to the Lorraine art of living.
