A Family Story

For the Ashfords, tea is a family tradition. For three generations, they have walked through our shop's doors with the same regularity one opens a good book. Their preferences are known, respected, almost etched into the shelves: Spring Darjeelings, rare Chinese teas, and above all... Earl Greys. It's a passion passed down, almost hereditary.

Georges, the patriarch, was an exception, however. Theine was no longer for him, and for years he had turned to herbal infusions. But one day, he asked us a simple, direct question, just like him:
"Could you create a real bergamot tea for me, but without theine? Not a flavored herbal tea, but a tea. With flavor. With character."

The challenge was set. And because we don't refuse such a sincere request, especially when it comes from a valued customer, we created this blend just for him. A decaffeinated black tea, respectful of its structure, true to the spirit of the Earl Grey he had seen so often in family cups.

Tea and Food Pairings
A beautiful decaffeinated Earl Grey pairs wonderfully with citrus or vanilla treats: candied lemon madeleines or fluffy gingerbread. It also perfectly accompanies a refined tea time, served with delicate pastries, some candied fruits, or a citrus cake.
It also enhances fruitier desserts: rhubarb compote, thin apple tart, or a financier with tangerine peel. Its zesty aromas perfectly balance the sweetness, extending the flavors with lightness.

Recipes and Cocktails with Decaffeinated Earl Grey
This decaffeinated tea becomes an ideal base for creative and easily digestible recipes. It can be incorporated into a homemade syrup to top a yogurt cake, delicately flavor a custard, or transform into an iced infusion for children, served with a dash of fresh lemon juice. For an aperitif, it can also inspire an elegant mocktail: cold Earl Grey, agave syrup, white grapefruit juice, and sparkling water… A subtle refreshment, both chic and soothing.
