When Christmas spices meet chocolate

Thanks to our collaboration with Cluizel, Cocao Oranges-Spices was a natural choice to enrich our collection of caffeine-free Christmas infusions, alongside our Christmas Herbal Tea and Rooibos. It shares their festive spirit and comforting warmth, while adding a unique touch: hot chocolate reimagined through the use of cocoa beans.

Alsace, a land of culinary inspiration

The idea took root in winter, in Strasbourg, as our aromatherapist strolled among the chalets of the Christmas market. There, the cobbled streets exuded an inimitable fragrance: that of still-warm cinnamon buns, aniseed stars lined up under glass domes, gingerbread with ginger, and candied orange peel. The air was frosty, but saturated with warm, familiar, almost magical aromas. There was something of childhood in the air, of fir trees, brown sugar, and starry nights.

A festive-tasting infusion

It was in this cozy atmosphere that the desire was born to create an infusion that would bring together these iconic Advent aromas. Star anise, Ceylon cinnamon, candied ginger, sweet orange… so many warm spices that we chose to combine with the velvety depth of the cocoa bean, to create a cocoon to drink, sugar-free, caffeine-free, but rich in flavor. Cocao Oranges-Spices is now the most wintry and festive creation in our Cocao range.

Food pairing

Naturally, our Cocao Oranges-Spices is the perfect accompaniment to winter treats… Cinnamon shortbread, soft gingerbread, almond tuiles, honey madeleines, or even a vanilla apple compote. It also pairs beautifully with Christmas specialties like Bredele, Florentines, or candied orange peel.

Recipes and cocktails using Coca-Cola Oranges-Spices

Ground into a fine powder, Cocao Oranges-Spices becomes a surprising ingredient in the kitchen. Mixed with raw cane sugar, it delicately flavors homemade sugar, giving it chocolatey and spicy notes. This flavored sugar enhances applesauce, pancake batter, plain yogurt, or marble cake.
