This infusion is a creation of Betjeman and Barton. Cocoa bean of high quality have been selected to imagine COCAO, a range of infusions softly dynamizing which invite to rediscover chocolate in very intense flavours. For black chocolate lovers only! The House of tea has been accompagnied with the know-how of the Manufacture CLUIZEL to select the cocoa beans coming from the best plantations.
The cocoa beans used to create this infusion are coming from the La Lguna Plantation situated in Guatemala. This infusion offers a cup with strong aromas of cocoa, orange and spices (cinnamon, anise and ginger).
Both genuine and 100% natural, COCAO by Betjeman & Barton is a source of multiple benefits. Indeed, cocoa bean are very rich in flavonoids and have strong antioxidant properties, ideal to fight against free radicals. Thanks to our encounter with Maison Cluizel, Cocao Oranges-Épices became an obvious choice to enrich our collection of caffeine-free Christmas infusions, alongside the Herbal Teaand Christmas Rooibos.It shares their festive spirit and comforting warmth, while adding a unique touch: that of hot chocolate revisited through the cocoa bean.
Alsace, land of gourmet inspirations
The idea germinated in winter, in Strasbourg, as our flavorist strolled among the chalets of the Christmas market. There, the cobbled streets exuded an inimitable scent: that of still-warm cinnamon buns, star anise aligned under glass domes, gingerbread with ginger and candied orange zest. The air was frosty, but saturated with warm, familiar, almost magical aromas. There was something of childhood, of fir trees, of brown sugar and starry evenings.
A festive-flavored infusion
It was in this enveloping atmosphere that the desire to create an infusion that would bring together these emblematic scents of Advent was born. Star anise, Ceylon cinnamon, candied ginger, sweet orange... so many warm spices that we chose to combine with the velvety depth of the cocoa bean, to create a drinkable cocoon, without sugar, without caffeine, but rich in emotions. Cocao Oranges-Épices is today the most wintery and festive creation in our Cocao range.
