A delicately smoky tea
In the House's bold world of smoked teas, Pointes Blanches stands out as an assemblage of delicately smoked black teas, enhanced with white tips, offering the mildest infusion in the family: an ideal choice for discovering the world of smoked teas without marked intensity, while enjoying a beautiful balance.
Its main characteristic lies in its aromatic sweetness and the addition of "white tips" (fluffy buds), which soften the character of traditional smoked tea, making it accessible even to the most delicate palates.
The magic of white tips
The "white tips" are actually young buds of white tea, traditionally called Yin Zhen, from the same tea plant as black tea leaves (usually the Camellia sinensis var. sinensis cultivar, predominantly used in Fujian).
These buds are hand-picked at the very beginning of spring, during a process known as the "imperial harvest," where only the youngest and most downy buds are taken from the plant. This meticulous work lasts only a few days each year, guaranteeing a rare and precious ingredient.
Added to the blend of smoked black teas, the white tips bring a great deal of sweetness, floral notes, a velvety texture, and a slightly honeyed and silky touch to the infusion, softening the pronounced woody strength of the smoke. This gives the White Tips an elegance and aromatic finesse that distinguish this blend within the family of smoked teas.
A preserved and precious craft
Our White Tip black tea comes from the Lu Yun Cha She artisanal garden located near the village of Tongmu in the Wuyi Mountains, in the north of Fujian province. This small family workshop, a loyal partner of our company for over thirty years, perpetuates a traditional know-how: the hand-picking of the white tips and smoking over local wood, thus giving each batch an incomparable authenticity and finesse, enhanced by the richness of the Tong Mu terroir.
