Christmas Tea, the audacity of a French Christmas

Christmas Tea was one of the very first Christmas teas to dare to stray from the spicy path. No cinnamon or nutmeg in this cup, here, the spirit of the holidays is adorned with a truly Parisian refinement, far from the traditional accords from the North. Conceived as a couture collection, this tea was created for French palates in search of another way to celebrate Christmas. Those who dreamed of rediscovering the magic of the holidays in their cup, but lost themselves in the overly strong spices of the blends
classics.

Our founders then sketched out a recipe inspired not by crackling fireplaces or snowy markets, but by the sweets in our pastry shop windows, those elegant delights that we treat ourselves to in the great French houses as the holidays approach. Beyond truffles or ganaches, it was a historic house founded in 1880, famous for its fruit jellies, that sparked their inspiration. From this vision was born a resolutely fruity tea, which has gradually become an emblem of our House.

Tea and food pairings
Christmas Tea is best enjoyed with a soft brioche, orange-glazed gingerbread, a slice of English fruitcake with candied fruit and icing, or even some fruit jellies, a tender echo of its composition. A slice of kugelhopf, a thin shortbread cookie with citrus zest, or even a slice of Yule log with exotic fruits will also complement it elegantly.

Tea-based recipes and cocktails
Here is a lovely recipe for a sparkling and refined cocktail, to serve as an aperitif or to conclude a festive meal:
• Infuse 2 teaspoons of Christmas tea in 10 cl of simmering water for 5 minutes, then filter if necessary.
• Add 1 teaspoon of homemade cherry syrup or grenadine.
• Pour the cooled infusion into a flute.
• Complete with chilled brut champagne or an elegant crémant.
• Decorate with a zest of flambéed orange and a sour cherry on a skewer.
This cocktail pays homage to the candied and fruity flavors of Christmas tea, while celebrating the lightness and effervescence of great moments.
