A Memory of Tulle and Light

In the Betjeman family, everyone has an artist's soul… Alix, for her part, danced. Slender and graceful, with her neck held high and her arms full of promise, she practiced her chassés in a small dance school nestled two streets away from our historic boutique on Boulevard Malesherbes.
Her father loved to pick her up. He would go discreetly, often in the late afternoon, when the golden light of Paris grazed the Haussmannian facades and shimmered on the studio's misty windows. From the entrance, he was struck by a unique atmosphere: a soft silence, charged with anticipation and momentum. In the air mingled scents of violet and rice powder, a touch of orange blossom on the wrists, a few drops of bergamot escaping from a bottle in a dance bag.

The Breath of Creation

He remembers the dance notebooks open on laps, where the little stars scribbled flowers or glued dried petals as if keeping a secret. And then, at the end of class, there was sometimes a sachet of peach candies, or a crystallized violet offered on the fly.
It was in this tender and suspended setting that inspiration struck him. He wanted this tea to be as soft as a breath, as delicate as an entrechat, as luminous as his daughter's gaze leaving a class. An infused homage to childhood en pointe, to the silent poetry of dance studios, and to the elegance of a little star he watched grow.

Tea and Food Pairing

“Comme une Étoile” is enjoyed like a breath of fresh air between two variations. It pairs wonderfully with an orange blossom or soft lemon macaron, or a dessert with yellow fruits. In summer, it also lends itself to an iced version: cold-infused, sprinkled with white peach slices and fresh petals, a refreshing dance on the rim of the glass.

Recipes and cocktails with Comme une étoile green tea

As the sun sets, it transforms into an elegant cocktail: infused in advance, it pairs with a bergamot-scented gin, enhanced with a dash of white peach syrup and a hint of lime. Served well chilled in a martini glass, it unfurls its floral and fruity notes like a last dance step on the cobblestones of a summer evening. A tea of reverie and delicacy, it tiptoes into the hearts of those who love to infuse light.

The Betjeman & Barton soul supplement

A tea like a tender memory, between childhood and light. Comme une Étoile is a discreet reverence to suspended time, to restrained emotion, to pure elegance. It doesn't raise its voice, but imprints itself gently, where dreams are born.
